Overview

Unswayed is a Chrome extension that hides social metrics on X, YouTube, and Hacker News so users can evaluate content without social proof cues.

Data Collection

Unswayed does not collect personal data.

Unswayed does not send user data to any server and does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or third-party telemetry.

Data Stored by the Extension

Unswayed stores only extension preference settings in chrome.storage.sync so your visibility toggles persist across browser sessions and synced Chrome profiles.

Unswayed does not store account credentials, payment information, personal messages, or form input.

Site Access and Permissions

Unswayed currently uses the following Chrome permissions:

• storage to save and sync settings.
• sidePanel to show extension controls in Chrome's side panel.

Content scripts run only on supported domains (x.com/twitter.com, youtube.com, and news.ycombinator.com) and are used only to hide or show social metric elements based on your settings.

Data Sharing and Selling

Unswayed does not sell user data and does not share user data with third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

Preference settings remain in Chrome Sync storage until you change them, clear synced extension storage, or uninstall the extension.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated with a new effective date.
